Howard Johnson Bengaluru is hosting an authentic Mediterranean food festival, ‘Colours of the Mediterranean’, at its Verve Cafe & Marea Bar Lounge till August 28.

The festival celebrates a connoisseur’s love for Mediterranean cuisine, now becoming one of the most sought after cuisines across the world. There are a variety of products, a culinary system and dining rituals which could be described as Mediterranean.

When you think about Mediterranean food, your mind probably goes to pizza and pasta from Italy or hummus and pita from Greece, but these dishes don’t exactly fit into any healthy dietary plans advertised as ‘Mediterranean’. The reality is that a true Mediterranean diet consists mainly of fruits and vegetables, seafood, olive oil, hearty grains and healthy mocktails and wines.

Rishi Neoge, Howard Johnson Bengaluru Hebbal, General Manager, said, “Mediterranean cuisine encompasses a lot of healthy ingredients. Vegetables and fruits along with seafood are widely used in the dishes. The menu is a tribute to the seafood philosophy that is apparent in Mediterranean cuisine due to the long coastal belt in the expanse. The festival will offer a wide range of salads, soups, vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, desserts, cocktails and mocktails prepared by chef Dev Bose.’’

So get ready to travel the length and width of the Mediterranean, in a culinary journey that stimulates taste buds.
