Writer Nagesh Kalur said literature is setting the society on right path through corrective steps.

Addressing  a programme organised to induct the office-bearers of the hobli unit of Kannada Sahitya Parishat at Bhagamandala and also pay tributes to writer Shankaranarayan Bhat, Kalur said, “Literary works should be aimed at outpouring dissatisfaction, not to impress others. Shankarnarayan Bhat was a fine thinker who worked for the progress of the society. If such personalities are considered as models, one should be able to contribute to the society.”

Lauding Indian culture as rich in composition, Kalur said it also has distinct features that helps in understanding tradition and art.

Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Lokesh Sagar said, “Bhagamandala is the land of writers and measures will be taken to build a dedicated Kannada Sahtiya Bhavan, provided the land is allotted for the purpose”.

Past president of parishat’s Bhagamandala hobli unit Kudukuli Bharat said, “Kannada language still holds sway in the district replete with people speaking different languages. However, it is inevitable to conserve the language and it is considered an arduous task in relevant time”.

Taluk unit president Kudekal Santosh said, “Various programmes are organised to inculcate teachings of various luminaries in the minds of children. Youths should be aware of culture of the land and strive towards its excellence for posterity”.
