A gang of four masked men made away with Rs 21.68 lakh from an ATM near Gubbi Gate bypass in the city on Tuesday, using a duplicate key of the cash vault.
Ganganna, the security guard at the ATM of Karnataka Bank, lodged a complaint at the town police station around 4 am, saying that four men tied his hands and legs and made away with the cash in the ATM.
The police found a duplicate key of the cash vault of the ATM. They are now questioning the security guards and two persons of the agency which replenishes ATMs.
The incident has been captured by CCTV cameras installed at the tea stall opposite the ATM, police said.
