Good evening, dear readers! The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 is underway. Alongside several other states across the country, Karnataka is also witnessing polls today, with 14 constituencies in contention. In the 2019 elections, the BJP secured 25 seats from the state, significantly outperforming the Congress which managed only one seat. However, with a Congress government currently in power in the state, it remains to be seen if the fortunes of the grand old party will improve. Good evening readers! Voter turnout has been comparatively low in Bengaluru than others parts of Karnataka in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections today. The 5 pm data showed that the three constituencies of Bangalore South, North and Central logged just under 50 per cent of votes while the rest of Karnataka recorded more, averaging at 63.90%. A case has been lodged against BJP MP Tejasvi Surya for posting a video on 'X' and soliciting votes on the ground of religion.
