Dayananda to be IGP, intelligence

The government, on Thursday, transferred IPS officer B Dayananda, Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Mysuru City Police Commissioner, to Bengaluru.

However, Dayananda will continue as the Mysuru City Police Commissioner till the Dasara festival concludes.

“No officer has been posted as Mysuru City Police Commissioner yet. Dayananda will continue in the post till the Dasara festival concludes on October 11. The government will finalise a replacement for Dayananda before October 11. In all probability, the officer will hand over charge on October 12,” a senior officer in the Home department told DH.

Dayananda has been appointed Inspector General of Police, Intelligence, Bengaluru. He is replacing Soumendu Mukherjee, who has been posted to the Fire Services, Bengaluru, as Inspector General of Police and Additional Director, according to a notification issued on Thursday.

Another IPS officer who has been given new posting is G Radhika. She is now Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law & Order, Belagavi city.
