GOs on allowances for cops issued

The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) on Monday issued the Government Orders providing for two new allowances and a hike in  uniform allowance for police personnel.

The order states that police personnel will get a conveyance allowance of Rs 600 and Rs 1,000 as hardship allowance every month. Their monthly uniform allowance will go up to Rs 500 from Rs 100. These allowances apply only to the lower rung police personnel — constables, head constables, assistant sub-inspectors and sub-inspectors — and will come into effect from December 1.
