Govt plans Raitha Santhe in all taluks soon: Minister

Speaking after inaugurating the dining hall constructed by the TAPCMS at a cost of Rs 60 lakh near Raitha Bhavana here, he said that the farmers in Malnad are in distress due to the exploitation by the middlemen. The matter has been brought to the notice of the government. “Government is contemplating on framing law to prevent the exploitation of farmers by the middlemen,” he added.

A separate Board has been formed by the government for horticulture cultivation. The Board will be beneficial for the farmers since it spends huge amount for the farmers, Thangadagi said. Chikmagalur - Udupi MP D V Sadananda Gowda said that due to a lapse from the side of banking sector, the central government’s package for coffee growers could not be implemented. Package could not be announced since details on Malnad were not furnished properly, he added.
