ZP chief inspects quality of food in anganwadi centre

During the visit, parents and locals informed him that due to the poor quality food, children not only fall  sick frequently but there has been a considerable decrease in their body weight too.

He tasted the food stuff to be given to children and pregnant women and found that the food given to children was not cooked properly.

He proceeded to the food packaging unit at Magadi village in the taluk and after holding discussions with employees at the unit, he collected some samples of food packets and asked the officials to send the same to the laboratory for testing. Later, addressing the reporters, he said that it was evident that the quality of food prepared at the unit was not up to the mark.

He said that he would discuss the matter with the Zilla Panchayat members and see to it that action is taken against the company which supplies ready food to Magadi unit. Congress Leaders M L Murthy, Raju, CPI Leader Shanker, officials Gopal and others accompanied the President.
