Women leaders on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Home Minister G Parameshwara for his remark on the reported mass molestation in Bengaluru.
CPM politburo member Brinda Karat said his “derogatory” remarks were unacceptable and he didn’t have the right to be in that position.
Annie Raja, president of the National Federation of Indian Women, also condemned the minister’s remark. “The NFIW views such response from the HM... is nothing but (a) violation of the Constitution. So, as a first step he should step down from the Constitutional position (sic),” she said.
