Govt plans to carve out 33 new taluks

Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa has said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has given his approval for formation of 33 more taluks.

The minister told reporters in here on Monday an announcement to carve out new taluks was likely to be made in the next budget.

When pointed out that the BJP government had announced the formation of 44 taluks, Kagodu said the BJP just stopped at making the announcement. Crores of rupees would have to be mobilised for formation of taluks, he said.
