RSS for public debate on textbooks

 The RSS and its affiliated organisations will talk to the people about introduction of new textbooks for classes 1 to 10.

The decision to launch such a campaign is learnt to have been taken at the RSS Samanvaya Baithak (coordination meeting) held here on Tuesday. The state government is planning to introduce new textbooks for classes 1 to 10 in the next academic year as per the recommendations of Baragur  Ramachandrappa Committee, a move opposed by the BJP.

According to sources, the meeting focused on organisational matters and did not touch on political affairs, including the tussle between B S Yeddyurappa and K S Eshwarappa.
The meeting decided to reach out to farmers reeling under drought and protect cattle by opening goshalas.

As a social initiative, the RSS and its affiliated organisations will launch a campaign to fight corneal blindness by creating awareness on eye donation, the sources said.
