JOIN US A day after ‘Dangal’ actor Zaira Wasim took to social media to post an “apology/confession” and said she is nobody’s role model, her mentor Aamir Khan came to her defence, saying that she was indeed a role model.
In fact, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti called Zaira a role model, following which Twitter trolls called them “Indian agents”. In a huff, the 16-year-old wrote two posts on Facebook, saying she did not want to be considered a role model. Later, she deleted the posts.
In a statement, Khan said he has read Zaira’s statement, and he can understand and imagine what led her to make such a statement.
The Bollywood star also appealed to everyone to “leave her alone” and respect the fact that she is just a 16-year-old girl trying her best to deal with life.
