Law Minister T B Jayachandra said the government has referred the file returned by Governor Vajubhai Vala directing the state government to reconsider the name of Justice P Vishwanath Shetty for the post of Lokayukta to the Advocate General for legal advice.
Vala had returned the file sent by the government recommending the name of Justice Shetty following complaints that he violated rules while buying land.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the government will answer all clarifications sought by the Governor and there was no question of recommending another name for the post of Lokayukta at this stage.
