<p>Production of quality coffee will help in increasing the gross domestic product (GDP) of the country, felt Coffee Day Global Company president V G Siddarth.<br /><br /></p>.<p>He was speaking at the golden jubilee celebrations of Christian Planters Guild in Chikkamagaluru on Sunday, Siddarth said FDA group of companies in Germany supplies 7% of coffee to the world. The production of good quality of coffee will help in increasing the GDP of the country. The total coffee production in the world is 152 million tonne.<br /><br /> In China alone, 30,000 tonne coffee is consumed domestically. According to economists, the economy of China will progress in the future, which in turn will increase the per capita income. If China gives priority to quality of coffee, then it would benefit their economy as well, he said. <br /><br />Tourism<br />Deputt Commissioner G Satyavathi said through coffee products, there is a need to attract tourists and promote tourism in the district. <br /><br />SP K Annamalai said the growers should make use of latest technology in coffee.
