<p>Jyoti Nivas College recently celebrated its national level inter-collegiate cultural fest ‘Scintillation’. The Ministry of Tourism, government of Karnataka, were the title sponsors of the same with the theme ‘Mirrors -‘Dis’cover you’. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The fest also aimed at promoting the vibrant culture of Karnataka through various events and activities. There were around 48 colleges who participated in it. <br /><br />The first day of ‘Scintillation’ witnessed many colourful performances including Indian group dance, mime, Western acoustic music, solo dance, ice-breaker, ‘rap it’ and fashion walk. <br /><br />The offstage events were ‘create with 50’, ‘hogathon’, ‘arm painting’, ‘treasure hunt’, ‘funk junk’, ‘turn coat’, ‘stand-up comedy’ and ‘photography’. <br /><br />The street events were street dance, beat boxing and ‘let’s play a prank’. It attracted a large number of people who were seen cheering for the performers till the end. <br /><br /> There was a lantern night on the first day that lit up the evening sky and put a perfect end to the day.<br /><br /> Abhishek C, a student of Garden City College, said, “The best part about ‘Scintillation’ was the lantern night. The sky was lit up and it was a very special moment for all of us who were a part of it.” <br /><br />The second day witnessed several onstage events that kept the audience at the edge of their seats. <br /><br />They cheered for the teams that performed for ‘Western dance’, ‘Indian music group’, ‘just a minute’, ‘solo singing’, ‘personality’, ‘switch heels’ and ‘union face-off’. <br /><br />The off stage events were ‘collage’, ‘open letters to none’, ‘micro tale writing’, ‘poetry slam’, ‘art zone’, ‘movie-making’, ‘virtual designing’ and ‘fireless cooking’. The street event for the second day was street play. <br /><br />The teams portrayed various social issues in an interesting way. Adding to these, ‘Sunburn’ in association with Jyoti Nivas College organised ‘Sunburn Campus’. <br /><br />The event featured DJs OllyEsse, NDS and Rohit. Reginold, a student of St Joseph’s College of Commerce, said, “Sunburn was mindblowing. This was my first Sunburn concert and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”<br /><br />The jury for the fest <br /><br />comprised Riyaz (aka Rimen), Balaji, Harman Preet Singh, Faizan, Tushar Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Nouman Khan, Zaheer, Mark Zubair, Sudhir, Zeeshan and Bangalore Food Harem. <br />There were many stalls and food trucks that attracted the crowd too. <br /><br />Raghav, a participant from Loyola College, Chennai, said, “The fest was amazing. The Union pulled it off really well. Kudos to the entire team for all their hard work and dedication.”<br /></p>
