Fire-hit flight lands safely

The private cargo aircraft of the Bismillah Airlines landed at the Shahjalal International Airport and there were no reports of casualty.

“The aircraft landed safely and there is no casualty report,” said an airport tower official who was monitoring and guiding the “unscheduled” aircraft.

Civil Aviation Authority chairman Iqbal Khan Majlish earlier said the right engine of the aircraft caught fire mid-air due to a technical snag. Rescuers, fire brigade workers, ambulances and police were kept ready at the airport.
