A mushy romantic melodrama, Enendu Hesaridali is a well-intended film. Can relationships built on trust and respect be impervious to the labels that society gives them? Should relationships — platonic or otherwise — be affected by the norms of a society that frowns upon happy, honest human constructs? What should such relationships be called?

Director Doddi seeks to address the issue through a routine romantic tale, suggesting to audiences to arrive at their own conclusions. Despite being different, Enendu Hesaridali slips and fails.

The film questions a man’s superficial attitude about women, his expectations, and the way he sees her as a convenient tool to further his own ambitions. Before it arrives at its larger premise, the film turns tiring.

Enendu Hesaridali unravels through an ill-fated cupid saga between Gautam and Ananya, and a fractured relationship between husband and wife Rajashekar and Kaveri. It is shot on the verdant locations of Koppa, Chikkamagalur, Mangaluru and other hilly, lush green places. Enacted with sincerity, but never convincingly enough, the film however makes for a decent watch.
