Last Updated 20 February 2017, 20:43 IST

Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni, key accused in the case related to the molestation of a popular woman actor, on Monday filed a plea for anticipatory bail at the Kerala High Court.

The court will hear Sunil’s appeal, filed along with his accomplices Manikandan and V P Vigeesh, on Tuesday.  The trio has managed to evade arrest while the police has arrested three other accused.

E C Paulose, an Aluva-based lawyer, told reporters that the trio approached him on Saturday seeking help in obtaining an anticipatory bail.

He said the accused told him that they had not committed the crime and were being implicated without verifying facts.

“They have left with us a passport, a mobile phone and an ID card,” Paulose said. The police is learnt to be following leads to possibilities of an extortion racket.

On Monday, it detained one of Sunil’s friends upon learning that the accused had visited his house at Ambalapuzha in Alappuzha district.
