<p>Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar on Sunday announced that he has become a father to twins — a boy and a girl — through surrogacy.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Karan (44), the son of legendary filmmaker Yash Johar and Hiroo Johar, made the announcement on social media, and introduced the children as Yash and Roohi.<br /><br />The babies were born in Mumbai’s Masrani Hospital on February 7, and the births were registered with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on Friday.<br /><br />Karan, in his recently released autobiography The Unsuitable Boy, had said that he wanted to either adopt or have a child through surrogacy. In the book, he has also dealt with his sexual orientation.<br /><br />“I am ecstatic to share with you all the two most wonderful additions to my life, my children and lifelines; Roohi and Yash. I feel enormously blessed to be a parent to these pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of medical science,” Karan tweeted on Sunday.<br /><br />“I am eternally grateful to the surrogate who has fulfilled my lifelong dream and provided a warm, loving and nurturing environment to my children before bringing them into this world. She will always remain in my prayers,” he said.<br /></p>
