5-year-old boy drowns in rajakaluve

A five-year-old boy drowned in a rajakaluve at Munnekolalu,Varthur on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Shamiulla, a resident of Munnekolalu. The family hails from West Bengal and shifted to city two years ago.

According to police, the incident occurred when Shamiulla was playing cricket with his friends. In his attempt to catch the ball, he fell into the rajakaluve.

The boys informed local residents who rushed to the spot, but couldn’t trace the body. They informed the police and fire force personnel who, after a search, found the body around 100 metres away from the spot where the boy had fallen.

There are two walls on both sides of the kaluve. The boy climbed up the wall and fell down. The parents have not lodged any complaint.
