Rains in different parts of state

Rain lashed Kalaburagi district on Thursday. Some low-lying areas were flooded and vehicular movement affected following the rain. There was also a drop in the temperature by three to four degree celsius. Rain lashed Kalaburagi city for more than 30 minutes in the wee hours. The city also received rain in the evening.

Khaja Husaini Rasulsab Mashalkar, 25, a farmer was struck dead by lightning in Karajagi village in Afzalpur taluk on Wednesday evening, while he was returning home after finishing work in his farm.

Rain lashed parts of Hassan district, K R Pet in Mandya district and Periyapatna of Mysuru district on Thursday. While Arkalgud, Alur, Arsikere, Belur, Channarayapatna and Sakleshpur taluks have been receiving good rains since two days, Shanthigrama, Hosale Hosahalli, Channangihalli, Ankapura, Kabbathi received moderate rain on Thursday.

K R Pet and Kikkeri in Mandya district received rain for more than an hour. Heavy rain lashed Mundgod town in Uttara Kannada district for half an hour on Thursday evening.

Vijayapura city and surrounding places received rain for more than half an hour on Thursday evening.
