New JD(S) office to be named after JP

The JD(S) will hold a convention of its workers at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru on March 23 to mark the inauguration of its new office at Okalipuram.

JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda said the new office will be named after social reformer and political leader Jayaprakash Narayan.

Gowda said he wanted to invite senior BJP leader L K Advani to inaugurate the office. “But now, Advani’s name is being considered for the post of President. I did not want to embarrass him by inviting him to a political event ahead of the presidential elections,” he said.
