A day after DH reported how police tried to trivialise a case pertaining to a robbery attempt in Jayamahal Extension, north Bengaluru, on April 8, the DCP (North) transferred the case from the jurisdictional JC Nagar police to the Hebbal police.
The JC Nagar police had just registered a case of theft attempt by the servant and failed to investigate it thoroughly, though it was clearly a planned robbery attempt.
The family’s Nepalese security guard, Gorkh Bahadur Shahi, had spiked their food and tried to rob them with the help of his accomplices. The Hebbal police have added IPC Section 394 to the FIR — voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery.
Report awaited
The family themselves sent the food samples to a food inspector and are awaiting the report to ascertain whether the food was spiked with sedatives, a senior police officer said.
