BBMP to HC: will build retaining wall at Esteem Enclave

Last Updated 19 April 2017, 20:09 IST

BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad on Wednesday submitted to the High Court of Karnataka that the Palike would build a retaining wall next to the Esteem Enclave on Bannerghatta Road by June 15.

Esteem Enclave had approached the court complaining the inaction of the BBMP despite repeated complaints to it about a pit located next to their premises, which was causing inconvenience to them. The hole apparently created by a neighbouring property owner Muninarayan was under dispute for many years. The BBMP had issued notice to Muninarayan and had even initiated criminal proceedings against him in 2013. Justice Raghavendra S Chauhan had taken exception to the BBMP’s inaction and not pursuing the notices and the criminal complaints.

The commissioner who was summoned before the court filed an affidavit stating that they would take action to fill up the hole and construct a compound wall by June 15. The judge adjourned the next hearing to June 19.
