Addressing reporters during a stopover at the Jindal airport here while on his way to Bangalore from Bidar, the chief minister said the meeting has been organised to attract investors ahead of the Global Investors’ Meet to be held in June.

“Since many industrialists have shown keen interest in investing, the meeting will give them an overview of the State,” he said.

Road show

Apart from the chief minister, ministers and senior officials will be a part of the delegation that will arrive at Mumbai on April 1 evening.

A road show has also been organised to attract the investors to the State.
Yeddyurappa also informed that a meeting of all the ministers and department secretaries has been organised on April 5 to implement the new schemes announced in the present budget and added: “We will try to get the ball rolling in April itself.”

Railway projects

The chief minister plans to meet Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee to discuss railway projects necessary for Bangalore and other districts in the State.

“We will appeal to the Centre to expedite the high speed and monorail projects to be undertaken in the State,” he added.

Replying to a question on Gram Panchayat elections, Yeddyurappa said the State government has no intentions of postponing the elections.

In reply to another query on flood relief, the chief minister said officials have been directed to provide electricity supply to 300 villages within a week.

“The government is committed to building 70,000 houses for those rendered homeless after the floods. In another week, the construction of 50,000 houses will begin,” the chief minister informed.
