You’re out for a long walk with your friends and after a while, everyone feels hungry. All of you want to indulge in different things and don’t know where to head to.

If you’re in and around Banashankari or even Jayanagar, ‘Roving Feast’ might be the place to stop at. They have an assortment of items like soups, momos, noodles, chopsuey and pastas and you can take your pick for a quick, filling meal.

“The concept of the eatery is to cater to anyone and everyone who comes looking for a nice, inexpensive meal. We, therefore, have a variety of things which people can choose from. The idea is to send everyone home with a smiling face and a happy tummy,” says the owner.

In the momos section, there are the veg, ‘paneer’ and chicken varieties to choose from. Then you can see if you’d like to have them simply steamed or perk them up by having them tossed in some sauces.

The steamed ‘paneer’ momos are quite ordinary in taste with nothing really special about them.
However, if you would like to dig into something spicy, go for the momos in ‘Manchurian sauce’ or ‘Schezwan sauce’. And maybe while feasting on them, you can sip on something to keep the heat at bay.

The soup choices include ‘Manchow’, ‘Hot ‘n’ sour’, ‘Chilli corn’ and ‘Sweet corn’. The non-veg appetiser selection is quite heavenly and one can tuck into ‘Drums of heaven’, ‘Crispy chilli chicken’, ‘Chicken spring roll’, ‘Hunan chicken’ and ‘Basil chicken’, with lots of succulent chicken to relish. ‘Manchurian gobi’, ‘Manchurian baby corn’ and ‘Vegetable spring roll’ are good picks for vegetarians. For pasta lovers, they have simply categorised the sauces into ‘red’, ‘white’ and ‘green’ to avoid much confusion; in fact, the pastas are one of the much sought-after items here.

And if you are one of those who is very particular about the pasta they eat, then there’s ‘penne’, ‘fusilli’, ‘macaroni’ and ‘spaghetti’ to mull over. The pastas are nicely done and served with some crisp garlic bread to make for a full meal.

If this doesn’t satiate your group and you’re still craving for more, then there are rice, noodles, chopsuey and gravy items to your rescue.

You can slurp on dishes like ‘Shanghai fried rice’, ‘Koithio-Malaysian noodles’, ‘Peking Cantonese chowmein’, ‘American chopsuey’ and ‘Dragon chopsuey’.

In the noodles and rice section, one can also go for the egg option apart from veg and non-veg choices.
Vijay Rao, a visitor, says, “It’s a nice place where one can walk in to have a good, reasonably priced meal. The choices offered are many and the preparations are good in terms of both taste and quantity. I was quite satisfied with everything I had here.”

All in all, it’s a fairly nice place to head to for a quick-fix meal.‘Roving Feast’ is located at 78, 21st Main Road, Near BDA Complex, Banashankari 2nd Stage. For details, call 42274242.
