Oppn meet on presidential candidate

Last Updated 30 April 2017, 19:23 IST

Opposition parties will hold a fresh round of meetings soon to build a consensus on fielding a joint candidate for the presidential elections.

During the meeting opposition parties like Congress, Janata Dal (U), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) , Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), left parties and Trinamool Congress (TMC) may also explore factors while finalising names for the joint presidential candidate that can lure some NDA allies, especially Shiv Sena, to vote for them, a JDU leader hinted.

Sena has voted against the NDA candidate in the past.
