JOIN USThe city police have detained notorious gangster ‘Korangu’ Krishna in connection with a major case.
Krishna, who was lodged in a jail in Hubballi was brought to the city on Sunday by a special police team.
“We have detained him to ascertain his role in a recent case,” said a senior police officer. However, he didn’t disclose the details of the case and Krishna’s role in it.
There are reports that Krishna has been detained to ascertain his role in the recent murder bid on Dasanapura APMC president Kadabagere Srinivas near Yelahanka.
Man run over by truck
A 24-year-old car driver was killed on the spot after he came under the rear wheel of a container truck on MES Road in Jalahalli on Saturday night. The victim, Anil Kumar, was a resident of Bhadrappa Layout in Nagashettyhalli.
According to the police, around 8 pm, Anil and his friend Chandra were going in the former’s car.
The container truck that was ahead of the car, suddenly slowed down as its driver applied brakes. Anil lost control over his car and hit the truck.
As the truck driver tried to flee, Anil got down and started chasing the truck. While running behind the truck, he lost balance, fell on the road and came under the rear wheel of the truck. He was killed on the spot.
