Samarth, Gautam slam big hundreds

Karnataka Ranji team-mates R Samarth and CM Gautam hammered big, brisk hundreds as Swastic Union Cricket Club (1) buried Jawans Cricket Club in an avalanche of runs in their drawn encounter of the KSCA Group I, I Division league match for the Sir Mirza Ismail Shield here.

Samarth narrowly missed out on a double ton after slamming 207-ball 193 (19x4, 6x6) while Gautam clubbed a 169-ball 164 with the help of 22 fours and two sixes as SUCC amassed 530 for seven in 90 overs.

Spirited reply
In isolation, Jawans gave a spirited reply by managing to post 368 for seven in 90 overs but in camparison it seemed a modest total. Jawans’ batting charge was led by Milind Ramesh (105) and Nishant Shakhawat (124).

SUCC earned three points for first innings lead while Jawans had to be content with a solitary point.
