Actor Sindhu Loknath is eagerly awaiting the release of her next ‘Samayada Gombe’ which, she feels, is a unique project altogether. The Sandalwood girl likes to choose her projects carefully and is in no rush to grab work.

In a light-hearted chat with Anushree Agarwal, she talks about her upcoming film, her adventurous side and why patience is required in the industry.

How excited are you for ‘Samayada Gombe’?
I am really excited about it because of the way the movie has been made. It is something different altogether in terms of the screenplay. The actual story takes place in two hours and the run time will be the same. Another special thing is that there are no cuts in the movie.

What are the other projects in the pipeline?
I am presently shooting for ‘Kaanadante Maayavadanu’, which is being made under the Yogaraj Bhat banner. It is similar to ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’. I play the character of this girl who is working in an NGO and someone cheats her by taking away land meant for old-age homes. She fights for it.

What is the key to survival in the Kannada film industry?
The only thing that you have to do in this industry is to make a smart choice in terms of films. A lot of people feel that after a few years, heroines don’t get to stay in the industry, so it’sbest to grab work fast. But it’s not that. It depends on the movies you give and the
position you take in the industry. You should have patience

Three things that give you an adrenaline rush...
Travelling, bungee jumping and skydiving. I am crazy of heights!

We hear you enjoy trekking...
We live in the city with so much noise. Trekking gives you so much time for yourself. It’s so peaceful and calm with nature all around. I went trekking in Ladakh last year. This year, I went to Coorg and Masinagudi, trekking at Kalhatty Falls.

Any travel plans soon?
New Zealand has been on my bucket list and I am planning to visit it this year for skydiving and bungee jumping.

What’s your style mantra?
I don’t have a style mantra. If there’s an occasion, I dress up else I am too lazy. People always spot me in tees and jeans. The only trick I follow is to wear good shoes if my attire is really simple. And I don’t like wearing accessories. Comfort is priority for me.

How do you stay grounded?
I’ve always been this way. This profession is such that it’s not going to stay till the end. Today I might be a big star, but tomorrow am just a normal person for my friends, family and everyone else. I can’t behave like a star. I have to do my own work.
