<p>The police on Monday resorted to cane charge to end a scuffle between the Left activists and residents of Dharna chowk who were protesting against using their area for agitations.<br /><br />Amid the recent announcement of the government to close down Dharna chowk, the Telangana Joint Action Committee had asked activists of all political parties to gather at the Indira Park. <br /><br />Police allowed them to gather at the place and hold peaceful protest. But activists from the ruling TRS had reportedly joined the locals and clashed with the opposition. <br /></p>
