Locals clash over designated protest spot

The police on Monday resorted to cane charge to end a scuffle between the Left activists and residents of Dharna chowk who were protesting against using their area for agitations.

Amid the recent announcement of the government to close down Dharna chowk, the Telangana Joint Action Committee had asked activists of all political parties to gather at the Indira Park. 

Police allowed them to gather at the place and hold peaceful protest. But activists from the ruling TRS had reportedly joined the locals and clashed with the opposition.
