If you’re a ‘shawarma’ lover, you may have been to ‘Just Shawarma’. But in case you haven’t, it’s a good place to head to, to taste the Middle Eastern delicacy in all its authenticity.

Three Bengalureans, namely Neelesh, Aashish and Aayush, jointly started the eatery three years back while they were still studying. The first outlet was in Jayanagar with just one staff member. Now they have grown exponentially and there are 13 outlets across the city with over 50 staff members. They also plan on expanding their franchise to Pune and Chennai.

The founders say that it is the addition of ‘toum’, a Lebanese garlic sauce, that imparts a unique flavour to their ‘shawarmas’. All the sauces are homemade and they claim to use only the freshest ingredients including the chicken.

The place sells four types of ‘shawarmas’. The ‘Malgoum shawarma’ is the fastest selling item on the menu, with a South Indian twist.

The juicy chicken is wrapped in Kerala ‘parota’ with ‘toum’, onion and loads of cheese. Health freaks, focussing on protein intake, can opt for their whole meat ‘shawarma’, loaded with well- marinated chicken and onion.
The ‘J S shawarma’ is a regular one with fries and ‘toum’. As for the ‘Shawarma on a plate’, it is a deconstructed dish. The pita bread along with the sliced marinated chicken, French fries and ‘toum’ is served to you on a platter.

But what catches your attention here is the ‘Bahubali Shawarma’. This enormous shawarma is almost a foot long in size. It has a large amount of  of marinated chicken pieces, lots of ‘toum’, vegetables and their new spicy inhouse sauce especially created for this particular item. They also have a competition going on between the outlets on who will sell the maximum ‘Bahubali shawarmas’.

‘Just Shawarma’ may not have the best ambience as they are low on seating space. However, the delicious ‘shawarmas’, pocket-friendly prices and the courteous staff definitely make up for that.

The place sees all kinds of crowds. They have outlets in Ulsoor, Jayanagar, New BEL Road, SG Palya, HSR Layout, Electronic City, Banashankari , Hebbal, Kundalahalli, Koramangala and Sarjapur Road. The place is open from 1.30pm to 10 pm.
