A new addition to the list of eateries in Koramangala is ‘Tobey’, that serves a variety of breakfast options and snacks.

Each of the dishes at the restaurant is an old-time favourite, said to have been passed down over generations.

The spread is a fusion of traditional Anglo and Colonial cuisine prepared using modern culinary techniques. They believe in retaining the original charm of each dish while adding a modern touch to it.

The place has a typical colonial setup, resembling that of an English club. The lantern street light and the vintage railway station clock add to the flavour of the place.

 The menu is given to you on an exam pad and has a good range of items. Their speciality is the lavish breakfast options and the sides. From ‘appams’ to pancakes , the place has tried to include most of the dishes from the bygone era.

There is a wide variety of egg preparations. From ‘Egg bhurji’ to ‘Egg Benedict’, there’s lots to enjoy for a Sunday breakfast.

‘Yumburgers’ is a collection of burgers, each with different ‘desi’ fillings. The pizzas are quite delectable and homely.

The place serves special breakfast platters only twice a week — on Saturdays and Sundays. Among them, the ‘Kapitans meal’ is quite interesting.

The platter comprises toast and baked beans with chicken sausage, a mushroom omelette with potato mash and salsa, waffles with apple reduction and banana fritters with watermelon juice. The dish, on the whole, is nice and quite filling.

On weekdays, they serve Indian lunch meals like the ‘Governor’s meal’ and ‘President’s meal’.

There’s also a variety of drinks to sip on and the colourful ‘Sea Breeze’ is quite cooling and refreshing. One can choose from hot and cold beverages. As for the Oreo lovers, they can try the ‘Fried oreos’ to satisfy their sweet tooth.

The staff at the restaurant is friendly and hospitable. The food is good; however, you may find some of the dishes a bit too mild in terms of flavour.

Overall, it’s a unique place with an impressive setup, worth visiting.
