<p>Former corporator V Nagaraj, who has been arrested in a money laundering case, is said to have amassed properties worth Rs 40 crore. <br /><br />The Hennur police recently arrested Nagaraj and his two sons Gandhi and Shastri in a money laundering case.<br />“He has five houses in his name in Srirampuram, including three four-storey and two five-storey houses. He has a piece of land and a farmhouse near Nelamangala,” said a senior police officer.<br /><br />The police said Nagaraj had earned these properties before demonetisation. There was no provision in the law to interrogate him regarding his properties, he said. <br /><br />Nagaraj reportedly exchanged demonetised notes in Tamil Nadu and brought new notes from there.
