Congress leader and former MP A H Vishwanath said he will tender his resignation from the primary membership of the Congress party to KPCC president G Parameshwara in Bengaluru.
Speaking at a meeting here on Tuesday, he said he is yet undecided on joining an alternative party, but said he will take a decision after Eid.
He has been hinting at quitting the Congress for almost six months. Recently, he had announced, in his hometown K R Nagar, that he will resign from the Congress. If he quits the Congress, he will become the second prominent leader to rebel against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in his home district.
A couple of ex-MLAs, a few corporators, ex-corporators, ex-members of zilla, taluk panchayat and some Congress office-bearers and ex-office-bearers took part in the meeting.
