<p>After interacting with former MLA B R Neelakantappa who has been on hunger strike for the last three days, on Saturday, outside Mini Soudha, Motamma said that she will take up this issue strongly in the Council.<br /><br />Over a telephonic conversation with the Project Chief Engineer, Motamma said that serving notice to farmers does not mean that all the procedures are done. There is a need to provide information on the project by holding discussion with the farmers and the elected representatives.<br /><br />Ridiculing police for providing security to contractors, she condemned the move of the officials of starting works on the farm land without any prior notice to the farmers.<br />CPI Leader Aradhya said that Government is going ahead in implementing a project of Rs 7,000 crore, clandestinely without discussing it over with the farmers and general public.<br />Congress District President M L Murthy said that Government is out to take up source of livelihood of farmers through the project.<br /><br />Leader S L Dharmegowda, former MLA B R Neelakantappa, A B Rajkumar, N Raju and others were present.<br />DH News Service</p>
