Motamma flays Bhadra upper canal project

After interacting with former MLA B R Neelakantappa who has been on hunger strike for the last three days, on Saturday, outside Mini Soudha, Motamma said that she will take up this issue strongly in the Council.

Over a telephonic conversation with the Project Chief Engineer, Motamma said that serving notice to farmers does not mean that all the procedures are done. There is a need to provide information on the project by holding discussion with the farmers and the elected representatives.

Ridiculing police for providing security to contractors, she condemned the move of the officials of starting works on the farm land without any prior notice to the farmers.
CPI Leader Aradhya said that Government is going ahead in implementing a project of Rs 7,000 crore, clandestinely without discussing it over with the farmers and general public.
Congress District President M L Murthy said that Government is out to take up source of livelihood of farmers through the project.

Leader S L Dharmegowda, former MLA B R Neelakantappa, A B Rajkumar, N Raju and others were present.
