Following in the footsteps of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his lieutenant PWD and District in-charge Minister H C Mahadevappa has nominated his son Sunil Bose as the chairman of the T Narsipur Assembly Constituency Awareness Committee on Housing Schemes.

An order to this effect has been issued by C S Shivakumaraswamy, under secretary 2, Housing department, on July 5.

Siddaramaiah had also nominated his son Dr Yathindra to a similar committee in his Varuna constituency.

The nominations come in the wake of criticism from a section of the media and also from people objecting to leaders projecting their sons in government functions and programmes and for also holding public meetings involving government officials. The nomination now gives legal sanction to the actions of the sons on behalf of their fathers.

Grooming session

It is a well known fact that Siddaramaiah is grooming his son Dr Yathindra to contest the next Assembly election from Varuna, while he himself has chosen to return to his earlier Chamundeshwari constituency. Similarly, Mahadevappa is planning to leave T Narsipur Assembly constituency for his son Sunil Bose and jump to the neighbouring Nanjangud constituency, both SC reserved constituencies.

Sunil Bose is an accused in a bribery case in connection with a sand extraction and transportation case.
