<div align="justify">The Opposition BJP and JD(S) on Monday lambasted the state government for transferring IPS officer D Roopa.<br /><br />BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa said Roopa’s transfer proved that the government was meant only for the corrupt.<div align="justify"><br />Roopa had exposed corruption in the Bengaluru Central Prison at Parappana Agrahara and the supply of drugs and narcotic substances in the jail, he stated. “The government, instead of conducting a thorough enquiry into the irregularities, is trying to white-wash the entire episode,” Yeddyurappa said in a statement.<br /><br />JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy also slammed the government for transferring Roopa and accused it of targetting a whistle-blower. It (transfer) is not unexpected. The government has been targeting whistle-blowers. It is now the turn of Roopa to expose corruption and irregularities in Bengaluru central prison.
