Man arrested for dowry harassment

Gururaj was married to Shwetha three years ago. The couple have a year-old son and stay at Shankarpura. Gururaj would allegedly harass his wife to bring more dowry.
He picked up a quarrel with his wife over the same issue, recently and set his wife on fire. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where she is battling for life.

Two injured
Two persons sustained injuries when a BMTC bus knocked down their two-wheeler on West of Chord Road on Monday afternoon. The injured Soundarya (12) and Vijay Narasimha were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. They are stated to be out of danger, said the Kamakshipalya traffic police.

The accident occurred in front of Thirumala Bar and Restaurant. Vijay Narasimha was moving towards his house with his daughter riding pillion. The bus driver lost control and hit the two-wheeler from behind.

The duo fell down and sustained injuries. Before stopping, the bus also knocked down another bike. However, the motorist escaped without any injures. The police have arrested the bus driver, added the police.
