Tejaswini claims gold in 50M rifle 3P

Senior shooter Tejaswini Sawant of Maharashtra won the women’s 50M rifle 3 position event on Sunday at the XVII Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting championship at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting range.

Tejaswini shot 454.7 in the final beating Aditi Singh of Haryana (453.4) to claim silver. Dilreen Gill of Punjab won bronze (438.8). In women’s 50M rifle 3 positions juniors event, Shreya Saxena of Jammu & Kashmir won gold (452.6) when she got the better of Prasiddhi of Madhya Pradesh (442.2). Shreya Purohit, also from Madhya Pradesh won the bronze.

Anish of Haryana also continued his stellar form on Sunday. After already winning titles in the 25M rapid fire pistol, he went on to win the gold (568) in the 25M pistol junior men’s event.

He beat Anhad Jawanda of Punjab (562) while Shivam Shukla of the Air Force came third with 558. Earlier on Saturday, Chandigarh’s 20-year old Anjum Moudgil won the women’s 10M air rifle with 251.3 in the final to pip Karnataka’s Meghana Sajjanar of Karnataka who shot 248.2. Ayonika Paul was third with 227.
