Shift govt offices from IG Road: DC

Preparations to widen the road supposed to be over by April 15

Speaking to presspersons, he said the bus stand, sub jail building, department of veterinary, Government Urdu school on the road have been asked to vacate.
It has been decided to widen I G Road by 40 feet. All the precautionary measures will be taken to see that no inconvenience is caused to the public during the road widening.
After shifting of government offices, we will hold talks with the building owners. The widening process will be carried out as per NH Act, he informed.
To a query on Upper Bhadra project, he said “it is our duty to implement government schemes.

However, we are not forcibly acquiring land from the farmers. We have already appealed the farmers to join hands in            the implementation of the project.
Compensation will be paid to those who lose land in the project. Following the sathyagraha in Tarikere, the work has been stalled in the last two days. A meeting will be convened with the farmers on April 8,” he added.
To a query on the delay in payment of compensation, the DC said compensation will be paid within three months from the date of final notification.

Datta peeta
The DC said “the court verdict on the repair works at Datta Peeta has reached my hands. I have already written a letter to Department of Religious Endowment for further action. Measures will be taken based on their recommendations.”
The problem of shortage of drinking water has not arose so far in the district. Necessary measures have been taken in those villages where there is a shortage of drinking water. Task Force has been constituted to solve the drinking water woes in the district.
On illegal sand mining in Hemavathy river in Mudigere, he said “mining auction will take place in some areas on April 9.”
