Last Updated 11 August 2017, 14:42 IST
Around 266 Kashmiri students enrolled under Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) in Jaipur's Suresh Gyan Vihar University (SGVU) were shunted from the campus after they failed to clear their dues.

Students were forced to leave the campus after the varsity failed to receive the scholarship amount extended to them by the central government. According to the varsity officials out of 466 Kashmiri students presently studying 266 were unable to pay their fees by not receiving scholarship in time.

According to the university PRO Aman Kaul, AICTE is not releasing the money due to technical issues. As per All India Council for Technical Education the two courses of this varsity are not recognised. "Most of these students are enrolled in civil engineering and bio technology. The scholarship is given by Ministry of HRD but it is released by All India Council for Technical Education. And as per AICTE these two courses are not registered under them but they need no recognition. We tried to put our side on paper but the attempts got foiled", Aman told DH.

Since 2014, 466 students sought admission at SGVU under the Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (meant for only Kashmiri students hailing from turmoil hit regions). These students mostly hail from the militancy hit  areas of Jammu and Kashmir such as Anantnag, Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian, Ramban, Poonch, Kargil, Leh and Ladakh.  Under PMSSS a student is entitled  tuition, hostel and mess fees. But here centre has only released scholarship to 200 students whereas rest of the 266 students are suffering.

While girl students were accommodated in the university but the boys were asked to vacate the hostel on August 1.  University's harshness towards the students has irked most of them. While speaking to DH, a student on basison anonymity said, "Every time we have to suffer. We are here to study and not to get exploited. Varsity should take the issue further with the institution in Delhi and allow us to study smoothly. We have been looking for a rented accommodation but its depressing as we are short of money and resources."

Reacting to the misery faced by student's  university administration said that they will try to look for midway to sort the issue."We have accommodated girl students and we will bring back boys as well in few days. At present university has suffered from 20 crore loss since 2014 as none of them is able to pay their dues", Aman added.

In the desert state of Rajasthan around 1700 Kashmiri students are presently studying unser PMSSS scheme in different varsities.
