If you are craving for a hot plate of ‘vada pav’ or if you are one of those whose day doesn’t end without sipping on a hot cup of ‘masala chai’, head to ‘Bun Maska Chai’, your neighbourhood eatery.

This cosy little food joint is tucked away on a bustling street in Jeevan Bheema Nagar. Although the place has only two tables with three chairs each, it has its own charm. There is also an option for customers to stand and relish the home-like food.

The brainchild of Shrijit Venkatesh and his partner Rwiju, this eatery is just a couple of months old but it is garnering a lot of attention from youngsters and working professionals from across the city. Shrijith says that though most of their orders are for online delivery, there are also many who step in to enjoy their breakfast.

The menu is quite compact and limited but that doesn’t stop the generous quantity being served.

‘Poha’, ‘Sabudana’, ‘Methi paratha’ and ‘Egg burji pav’ are part of their ‘All day breakfast’ category while ‘Bun maska’, ‘Cheese omelette toast’ and ‘Masala veg Maggi’ come under their ‘quick bites’ section. Suffice to say there is lot of variety here.

You can also try their ‘Egg akuri with pav’, which is a Parsi-styled scrambled eggs, with a perfect blend of Indian spices and served with two ‘pavs’.

People can also look try out their ‘desi’ burgers and sandwiches section. Don’t forget to relish the ‘Bun samosa’, ‘Devilled egg sandwich’ or go for their ‘Chowpatty ka cheezy aloo’. The bun is soft and the samosa is crispy and mouthful. The ‘aloo’ sandwich has just the right amount of spices and the generously spread cheese. It can be quite filling, so take smaller bites if you want to explore the menu further.

One can also satiate their hunger with some of their fast-moving items like ‘Parsi mutton keema pav’, ‘Keema baida bun’ and ‘Indori poha’.

Staff at the eatery has a good knowledge about the menu and can also help one choose the items.

‘Bun Maska Chai’ is located at 594, 6th Cross, HAL 3rd Stage, Jeevan Bhima Nagar.
