KAT upholds regularisation of 417 engineers

The KAT bench including chairperson Justice A V Srinivas Reddy and the member administration G Raju Prem Kumar dismissed the petition which sought to quash the provision in the Karnataka Public Service Rule (Regularisation)-  2002, which regularised the assistant and the junior engineers in the water resource department.

On November 23, 1993, the government had appointed these engineers on contract basis.
Questioning the appointment, many people had approached the KAT. These engineers were regularised when H K Patil was the irrigation minister.
