<p>The KAT bench including chairperson Justice A V Srinivas Reddy and the member administration G Raju Prem Kumar dismissed the petition which sought to quash the provision in the Karnataka Public Service Rule (Regularisation)- 2002, which regularised the assistant and the junior engineers in the water resource department.<br /><br />On November 23, 1993, the government had appointed these engineers on contract basis. <br />Questioning the appointment, many people had approached the KAT. These engineers were regularised when H K Patil was the irrigation minister.</p>
