Man jumps in front of train as lover kills herself

A 23-year-old man killed himself by jumping in front of a moving train on the railway track near Binny Mill on Wednesday, after seeing the girl he was in love with hanging from a ceiling fan at her house.

Gayana, 19, a BCom student, hanged herself at her house at BBMP quarters in KP Agrahara on Wednesday evening. She was a student with RPA College in Rajajinagar, while Mallesh was working in a hardware store. Gayana's parents work with the BBMP, police said.

"Mallesh was in love with Gayana. However, she did not reciprocate his feelings. She slipped into depression after her dog died about two weeks ago," said a senior police officer.

She hanged herself from a ceiling fan when she was alone in the house. Mallesh went to her house after being told about the incident. He then came to the railway track and jumped in front of a running train.
