The JD(S) has decided to extend its ‘Mane Manege Kumaranna’ campaign across the state.

The party took a decision to this effect at its legislature party meeting held in Bengaluru on Tuesday, to counter BJP’s ‘vistaarak’ campaign and Congress’s ‘Mane Manege Congress’. A team of leaders will accompany JD(S) leaders, H D Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy, in this door-to-door campaign.

Kumaraswamy, who addressed his party legislators via video call, assured them that he would resume his state tour on November 1. The former chief minister, who recently underwent a heart surgery, has been advised rest, owing to which he will be out of action for the next one month.

JD(S) president H D Deve Gowda, who presided over the meeting said that the party had not been able to chart out an action plan because of Kumaraswamy’s ill health.

He said that the party will field candidates in all the 224 Assembly constituencies and that primacy would be given to retaining the 33 seats that it currently holds.
