A photograph of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and state BJP farmers’ wing president C H Vijayshankar hold talks at the former’s farmhouse in T Katur near Mysuru, has gone viral. Vijayashankar had recently said that he was planning to quit BJP.

However, speaking to reporters at Mysuru Airport in Mandakalli, the chief minister said he does not know about Vijayashankar joining Congress. The BJP member took part in the final rites of Chikkamma, the elder sister of the chief minister, at Devegowdanahundi in the taluk. But, he left the village before Siddaramaiah reached there.

Vijayshankar said, “I and Siddaramaiah have been friends for the past four decades. We moulded our political career together since 1978. I did not attend the final rites of Chikkamma for any political gain.”
