Deepak put SAI ahead in the fourth minute itself but MLI came back into the match through penalty corner goals from Sunil Kumar (25th) and Ganesh Patil (42nd). SAI restored parity through a penalty corner conversion from Likin Thimmiah in the 66th. Three minutes later, Deepak netted the winner for SAI with another short corner goal.
In another match, Army Green routed HASC 6-1.
