Fiona to testify in Scarlett case next week

S R Rivonkar, special counsel for the Central Bureau of Investigation told this newspaper that MacKeown who is to fly into Goa later this week, will be called in to give evidence on Monday.

The trial which was adjourned on April 12 will resume on Friday. The prosecution has two witnesses listed for the day, among them is the man who called the police to inform them about the teenager’s body on Anjuna beach.

MacKeown was holidaying at Gokarna with her partner and the rest of her family when her daughter was found dead here on February 18, 2008. But the Anjuna police’s shoddy investigation into the unnatural death made Fiona suspicious of an attempted cover-up. For one, the local police had not even bothered to look for Scarlett’s clothes. Fiona found them later in the bushes near the beach.
