The District and Sessions Court postponed the hearing of hotelier Bhaskar Shetty murder case to November 28 for fixing the date for trial (FDT).

The accused number one Rajeshwari, accused number two and three son Navneeth and astrologer Niranjan Bhat, were produced before the court in connection with framing the charges for Shetty’s murder.

The accused number four and five who are out on conditional bail, Srinivas Bhat and Raghavendra, the father and driver of the accused number three Niranjan Bhat were also present in the court.

The charges were framed and the accused declined to accept the charges following which the court fixed the date to begin the trial.

As the accused number one, two and three are shifted to Shivamogga jail from Mangaluru jail due to an attack by the inmates, all the three were brought in by KSRP van from Shivamogga.

It can be remembered that the Udupi police superintendent had suspended three police personnel who were involved in bringing them in the air-conditioned car suggested by the accused themselves.

Two held for selling ganja

The accused have been identified as Godwin D’Souza, aged 24 years and his brother Glodin, aged 21 years from Santhekatte in Puttur.

The charges were proved on Monday. A case has been registered at Udupi town police station.
